  • Steve Wozniak

    Steve Wozniak

    Co-founder Apple

    Steve Wozniak was born in San Jose, California, on August 11, 1950. In partnership with his friend Steve Jobs, Wozniak invented the Apple I computer. The pair founded Apple Computers in 1976 with Ronald Wayne, releasing some of the first personal computers on the market. Wozniak also personally developed the next model, Apple II, which established Apple as a major player in microcomputing.

    As President and COO of SpaceX, Gwynne Shotwell is responsible for day-to-day operations and for managing all customer and strategic relations to support company growth. She joined SpaceX in 2002 as Vice President of Business Development and built the Falcon vehicle family manifest to more than 70 launches, representing nearly $8 billion in revenue. Shotwell is a member of the SpaceX Board of Directors. Prior to joining SpaceX, Shotwell spent more than 10 years at the Aerospace Corporation. There she held positions in Space Systems Engineering & Technology as well as Project Management. She was promoted to the role of Chief Engineer of an MLV-class satellite program, managed a landmark study for the Federal Aviation Administration on commercial space transportation, and completed an extensive analysis of space policy for NASA’s future investment in space transportation.

    Fadi Ghandour is the Founder and Vice Chairman of Aramex, one of the leading global logistics and transportation companies. He is currently Managing Partner of Wamda Capital, a new Venture Capital fund focusing on technology investments in the Arab World. Fadi is also the Managing Partner of MENA Venture Investments, a seed capital investment company investing in early stage tech companies. He is Member of the Board of Abraaj Capital, Member of the Board of Endeavor Global, Member of the Advisory Council of the MIT Media Lab and Member of the Board of Trustees at the American University of Beirut (AUB). Passionate about social entrepreneurship, Fadi is the Founder and Chairman of Ruwwad for Development, a private-sector led community empowerment initiative that helps disadvantaged communities across the region overcome marginalization through activism, civic engagement, education and financial inclusion with support from the Ruwwad Micro Venture Fund, an equity-based fund providing seed capital and support

    David Brown

    David Brown


    David Brown is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Techstars. David is a serial entrepreneur who has founded three startups and been involved with two others. David is one of the original founders of Pinpoint Technologies, Inc. which is now part of ZOLL Medical Corporation and provides solutions to the emergency medical services market. He was President of the company from founding through over $50M per year in revenue and over 250 people. David later co-founded Techstars along with David Cohen, Brad Feld, and Jared Polis. He has been an investor and advisor to Techstars since inception. In 2013, he joined Techstars in a more active role as Managing Partner. David has a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. As a ski instructor in the past, David still enjoys hitting the slopes on a good powder day.

    Barry Schuler is Managing Director for DFJ Growth and the former Chairman/CEO of America Online Inc. He is credited with being one of the pioneers of the modern Internet. As an entrepreneur for more than 30 years, Barry propelled innovations in digital media, e-commerce, design, and video games. He was a member of the senior management team that scaled AOL from $1B to $200B in market cap during 20 consecutive quarters of growth. Barry co-founded the DFJ Growth Fund in 2006 and is actively involved with its investments which include Twitter, Tumblr, SolarCity, SpaceX and Tesla Motor Company

    Renaud Visage is the Co-founder and CTO of leading self-service ticketing platform for events around the world Eventbrite. Eventbrite enables people all over the world to plan, promote, and sell out any live experience. Launched in 2006 and based in San Francisco, Eventbrite has raised $200M in venture capital. It employs more than 400 people on four continents, and is available in 14 countries and 7 languages. When Renaud is not writing code, he’s probably taking pictures somewhere around the world.

    Founder and CEO of JumpStarter Inc. which operates, a web portal that believes in creating smarter and more successful companies by applying crowdsourcing from conception of an idea all the way through funding. Dirk is a also CEO of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies, Inc. which is JumpStartFund's well known undertakings to make the Hyperloop become reality, by using it crowdcollaboration concept. He is a serial entrepreneur with experience in almost every element of business: Management; product design and development and manufacturing; production facility design and set up, production cost control, marketing, product distribution; customer service; and sales. Before co-founding Jumpstarter, he was at the Girvan Institute of Technology, an incubator-accelerator for early-stage high-tech companies.

    Ali Partovi

    Ali Partovi has been described by the San Jose Mercury News as one of “Silicon Valley’s top angel investors,” having been on the ground floor of both Facebook and Dropbox. He's a passionate advocate of sustainable food systems, and has invested in BrightFarms and Farmigo, as well as real estate fund Farmland LP to scale organic, sustainable farming practices. After graduating from Harvard, Ali co-founded LinkExchange (acquired by Microsoft for $265mm). Partovi later co-founded iLike (acquired by MySpace). Partovi’s investments have also included: Zappos, OPOWER, Thumbtack, and Airbnb. Ali co-founded non-profit, which promotes Computer Science education and hosts the worldwide “Hour of Code.” He serves on the board of FoodCorps, a non-profit that improves food in public schools.

In 1998 Julie founded First Tuesday, the network of entrepreneurs. After selling it, she founded Ariadne Capital in August 2000 to create a new model for the financing of entrepreneurship. Julie has been awarded an MBE (Member of the British Empire). She has been named one of INSEAD's Top 50 Alumni, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, one of WIRED's 100, one of London's 1000 Most Influential People 2010 & 2011, one of the Top 30 Most Influential Women in Europe by the Wall Street Journal, and one of Brummell Magazine’s 30 Inspirational Women 2014. She is on the Board of Directors of Vestergaard Frandsen. The University of Warwick gave her an Honorary Doctorate of Laws in 2014. Her book ‘Welcome to Entrepreneur Country’ won several awards. Also, she has a regular column in Forbes and a blog on the LinkedIn Program.

After education as an industrial designer, in 1983, at just 22 years of age, he founded Technogym, today's world leading company offering products and services for Wellness and rehabilitation. The first pieces of gym equipment, designed and built in his own garage, are the result of his enthusiasm for sport, his skills as a designer and his passion for design. In the early 90's, Alessandri defines the Wellness concept, a lifestyle which aims at improving the quality of life thanks to regular physical activity, a healthy diet and a positive mental attitude. A profoundly Italian concept whose roots are to be found in the ancient Roman saying "mens sana in corpore sano" and which very soon asserts itself on the market as the evolution of the American fitness concept. Today Technogym is a world leader company in the wellness and sport field and has been official supplier to the last 6 Olympic Games

He also is an active angel investor in internet and technology companies. He is one of the co-founders of Galata Business Angels, which is one of the first business angel networks in Turkey.

He has broad experience over more than 20 years acting in international environments both in Asia and US building up startup projects. Angel is shareholder at Fractus, a well-known growing European Technology start-up in the global telecom industry which implemented a patent licensing program having collected close to $ 100 million in royalties to this day from top worldwide cellphone manufacturers.

Christina is also an investor at Samsung’s Global Innovation Center, focused on early stage investments in software and services. She is a Regular Contributor for the Wall Street Journal on startups and small business, a mentor at The Brandery accelerator and Venture for America, and a member of Venture for America's Women’s Initiative Committee. Christina was previously a Vice President at Citigroup with background in capital markets, emerging markets and structured finance. She serves as Chairman of Hope on a String, a non-profit, grassroots organization that seeks to foster an environment of social transformation and economic development in Haiti through participation in music as well as Vice President of the Board of Governors of the Hotchkiss School Alumni Association.

    Benjamin Rohé, an entrepreneur who co-founded a public company amongst other startups and worked in the tech, renewable energy, digital space since 1997. He started his first company at the age of 17. Benjamin has been investing time and money into startups throughout Europe since 2007. In 2011 his business angel investment activities became more structured by forming and bringing in an advisory board of industry experts. Benjamin also served as a Partner in the Venture Capital Funds of Redalpine Venture Partners AG in Switzerland. He is an accredited investor by the European Investment Fund (EIF - EAF). Since January 2015, Benjamin is heading the German Tech Entrepreneurship Center (GTEC) in Berlin. Founding Partners include European School of Management and Technology, Noerr LLP, RWE, Henkel and 2 foundations.
